26th Annual National Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice National Parade

Recognized as the largest parade of its kind, the annual National Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Parade will proceed through downtown St. Petersburg in honor of the great civil rights leader. Spectators can enjoy a number of floats representing many local businesses and civic organizations, as well as food and drinks from a variety of vendors.

The highlight of the parade is surely the marching bands that come from different parts of the US, including the Florida A&M University Marching 100. Playing the latest hip hop, R&B and -- of course -- a few oldies, the bands feature percussion and brass instruments that send a pulsating rhythm through the streets. The parade begins at Tropicana Field on 3rd Ave. South, proceeding to the waterfront via Central Avenue,  and along Bayshore Drive to 5th Ave. North.
