First Florida Frontiers is kicking off it’s 2012 season with an exciting new partnership with Earth Scouts St. Petersburg. In anticipation of Gulfport’s Earth First Festival in April, Misann Ellmaker, Director, Earth Scouts & Sustainable Business Coalition, Earth Charter US will be the featured speaker at our January 27th meeting at 7:00 PM.
Earth Scout, a Program of Earth Charter US, encourages boys and girls ages 3 to 13 years to become responsible global citizens empowered with the ability to make a difference in their local communities and throughout the world. Through education, activities, and service Earth Scouts promote The Earth Charter vision of a caring, sustainable and peaceful world. Their slogan is "Changing the World One Fun Badge at a Time." This program teaches children and youth to value and appreciate one another, as well as uphold the other values of the Earth Charter as they grow older. Earth Scouts St. Petersburg located at Admiral Farragut Academy is the first group to implementi its program as part of its school curriculum.
