The Johnson Branch Library and Enoch Davis Center host an afternoon of fun, entertainment and education for the public while celebrating the life of James Weldon Johnson. Actor Leroy Mitchell will portray Johnson for the event, meet with patrons and discuss the life, career and accomplishments of the civil rights activist and educator. There will be a moonwalk, puppet show and free books for kids along with free food and drinks. Faye Dowdell, author of Juneteenth For Children will also make an appearance.
