Maria Pertik, RN PhD, also known as Dr. Mo, will be on hand to discuss her new book, co-authored with Zora De Bodisco, Shaking Hands with Alzheimer’s Disease: A Guide to Compassionate Care for Caregivers. The book’s creation is the result of Maria’s own caregiving journey with her mother. She translates the lessons she learned into seven steps for wellness and collaboration of all who are involved with Alzheimer’s disease. The steps evolved from her pain, mistakes and accomplishments as well as from listening to other caregivers, bankers, police officers, emergency room doctors, assisted living administrators, mental health professionals, family members and people with Alzheimer’s. Learn of her experiences firsthand at this event. The book will also be available for purchase for $10. RSVP by calling 727-381-5411.
