
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies and Gulfport Police are asking motorists to steer clear of Gulfport Boulevard South.
A fatal Thursday afternoon crash has closed westbound lanes in the area of the 6100 block.
Gulfport Police say the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. when a single car crashed. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, police noted in an email to media.

The motorist has been pronounced dead.
Police are not releasing the driver’s name, pending next of kin notification. They also have not released details about the accident.

It is unclear at this time how long the lanes will remain closed.
