How long have you been with the Gulfport Fire Department?

This is the sixth year as a full time firefighter. Jordan spent 10 years volunteering with the before becoming full time. His total experience is 16 years.

What do you like about your job?

"I like everything about my job, the brotherhood, the camaraderie, the closeness. It's a tight knit family."

What do you dislike about your job?

"There's no dislikes about my job. I don't think I can say anything about my job."

What inspired you to become a firefighter?

"I like helping people overall. I like the joy of it. People appreciate what we do."

What do you like about Gulfport?

"It's a small town. Everybody know everybody. It has a Key West feel."

What do you want the general public to know about the Gulfport Fire Department?

"We're here. We work pretty hard. A lot of people don't understand the 24 hours. They just think they [firefighters] don't do anything until their called out. It's our home away from home."
