February 1, 2011. Prior to that, Cavanah was with the Polk County Sheriff's Department for 6 years.

What do you like about your job?

"It's something different everyday, you never know what you're gonna get."

What do you dislike about your job?

"Paperwork"

What inspired you to become an officer?

"I had the desire to help others and serve."

What do you like about Gulfport?

"The city reminds me of home."

What do you want the general public to know about the Gulfport Police Department?

"Very professional, that's the biggest thing."
