What do you like about your job?

"The job is different every day. Coming to work we experience a vast number of issues to address and solve, some easy and some requiring more work and effort." 

What do you dislike about your job?

"Nothing to dislike, it's a continuous learning experience, we go home every night with another chapter of life experiences."

What inspired you to become an officer?

"The continued desire to serve the public and to see the immediate results! I served in the military completing a career as a Naval Flight Officer and although we served many great causes netting great results those results weren't always experienced first hand. I had . . . a career as a corporate security executive and had the same environment, problem solving for our customers and (the) company was continuous but the results weren't always experienced first hand. In my short time as a police officer I've experienced those first hand; results of our actions daily, it's a great feeling to go home every day knowing you've made a difference in the community and someone's life."

What do you like about Gulfport?

"Gulfport may be a small community but has most of the same amenities and challenges of a larger city. The great thing I've found in my short time in Gulfport is seeing the same people and recognizing faces every day. With its small size I'm able to see those community members on a regular basis and learn what specific needs I can help with."

What do you want the general public to know about the Gulfport Police Department?

"We're here to help! Everyone on the Gulfport Police Department team has the goal of making Gulfport a safe and enjoyable community both to live in and visit. We want our community to feel good about living here and we want our visitors to always leave with the thought of coming back for another enjoyable experience. We are proactive in making things better by partnering with the community and addressing ongoing issues, we're not just responding to the single calls for service. We want to hear about the good things in the community as well, tell us what's working well in one area of the city so we can share that throughout."
