What do you like about your job?
"This is a kind of job that allows you to sort of "be your own boss." I enjoy the freedom and responsibility that comes with this career. I love coming to work and not knowing what the day brings. I also have great stories."
What do you dislike about your job?
"The paperwork. I also dislike being judged by what a different police officer did in the past."
What inspired you to become an officer?
"I wanted a job I could be proud of and could help people. I have several public servants in my family: police, fire, paramedics and nurses. I was raised with the idea that giving and helping others promotes happiness. This job is not for everyone."
What do you like about Gulfport?
"It's a small town in a densely populated area. I wave at everyone driving around. I also talk to everyone. I enjoy walking into businesses and people yelling "Hi" to me or offering me water etc. Gulfport is definitely a league of their own."
What do you want the general public to know about the Gulfport Police Department?
"We are people too. We say and do things with the best interest of the community at heart. We have rules, policies and laws we have to follow even if we sometimes disagree with them."
