Hey, the weekend's here! Well, it will be in a few hours. Until then, here are five things Gulfport residents should know.

Five things to know as we are just hours away from the second weekend of the seventh month of the year:
1) Weather: Better have your umbrellas handy today. There's a good chance of rain all day today, per AccuWeather.com. It will be soupy when you wake up with the temperature in the high 70s and a humidity even higher. By the time you get to work it should be in the lower 80s. Thunderstorms on and off all day. The good thing though is that all the cloud cover may prevent the temperature from reaching 90.

5) Get your weekend moving by taking part in an energy class at the Gulfport Recreation Center. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. the class is open to all for a modest charge of $5 a class.
