Looking for Cheap Gas? We Can Point You in the Right Direction

Where's the cheapest gas in town? What's there to do on the Day After the 4th? Read "5 Things to Know" for answers.

Here is today's "Five Things You Need to Know Today," as Gulfport cleans up from the Big Bang on Wednesday. (Doesn't it feel like Sunday? Let us know in the comments below how you feel about a mid-week holiday.)

Weather: The normal west-central Florida summer weather pattern should return today. Per the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. today with a high of 89. The rains should clear out by 8 p.m. and expect a low of 78.

Cheap gas: As of yesterday, two gas stations in town boasted the cheapest gas. Per GasBuddy.com, Gulfport Super Gas, 2201 49th St., and Sunoco, at 5150 Gulfport Blvd., each sold a gallon of unleaded gas for $3.05.

Salsa: Learn to salsa dance at the . The three-hour class, which begins at 7 p.m., interested parties can put on their dancing shoes and tear up the floor. Cost is $7.

Stretch and tone: After such a fun day celebrating the Fourth of July in Gulfport, perhaps it is time to take care of your body? That can be taken care of at the this morning at 9 a.m. For just $3, professional trainers will help students learn to stretch, tone and strengthen muscles.

Nature tour: Looking for something a little more laid back than yesterday's festivities?  Try a guided tour of the Boyd Hill nature preserve. A tram will guide visitors to see all sorts of wildlife including birds, pine trees, marshes, turtles and perhaps a gator or two. The tour begins at 1 p.m. leaving 1101 Country Club Way South in St. Petersburg. The tour costs just $2.
