Flood Advisory Issued for Gulfport

Storms that rolled through the St. Petersburg area tonight have resulted in the National Weather Service issuing a Flood Advisory for Gulfport and all South Pinellas communities. 

The advisory is until 10 p.m.

According to the Weather Service, just after 8 p.m., Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall associated with the thunderstorms. 

Localized flooding in urban and small stream areas is imminent or occurring, the Weather Service said. 

The storm is continuing to move west at 5 - 10 mph.
