• Why go: The Corey Avenue Sunset Celebration features a variety of unique entertainment, local artists, crafts, and snack foods. Free parking.

"Operation Medicine Cabinet" Prescription Drug Drop-Off

• When: Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Where: 3077 54th Ave S, Saint Petersburg, FL 33712 (parking lot of Walgreens) Other drop off locations listed here.
• Why go: The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office narcotics unit is holding another installment of “Operation Medicine Cabinet” -- an opportunity for residents to discard unused or expired prescription drugs safely, with no questions asked.

Gecko Ball 2011: "The Lizard of Oz"

• When: Saturday, Aug. 27, 7 - 11 p.m.
