Get Out: Weekend Events Preview Feb. 10-13
With a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants in the area, there's no reason to spend the weekend at home. We've put together a list of fun things to do in the Gulfport area.

Where/When: Gulfport Casino Ballroom, Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: The South Pasadena Community Band presents, "Lincoln and Valentines," a free musical performance at the Gulport Casino Ballroom. Under the direction of conductor Max Millspaugh, the band will play selections of classical, jazz, big band and patriotic music for your listening pleasure.

Where/When: Progress Energy Center for the Arts-Mahaffey Theater. Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Did you miss out on the Pink Floyd Experience as a teenager? Here's a chance to have a Near Experience with a Pink Floyd tribute band. The band, which hails from California, is supposed to be pretty convincing, plus the Mahaffey Theater concert is a dazzling light spectacle, complete with a floating pig. Time travel back to 1977, with six musicians performing the Brit group's greatest hits from the "Animals" album, which will be played from start to finish. Expect to hear such chart-topping hits as "Run Like Hell," "Money," and "Comfortably Numb."
PRICE: Tickets start at $34; seats are still available.
Where/When: Hideaway Cafe, 1756 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg. Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy a live performance by famed singer-songwriter Glen Phillips. The acoustic rocker will perform a selection of originals that include "Return To Me" and "Everything But You," from his latest studion album, "Tornillo."

Where/When: The Gathering Place, 3050 First Ave. S, in St. Petersburg. Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Join the King of Peace Metropolitan Community Church for unlimited wine and food samplings, to raise money for Suncoast Hospice. Enjoy a variety of fine wines from local vinyards as well as a silent auction and fine arts sale.

Where/When: Gulfport Casino Ballroom, Sunday at 1 p.m.
Why Go: Need a date for Valentine's day? Local singles are invited to the Gulfport Casino Ballroom for an evening of music, dancing, speed dating and more. This event provides the perfect opportunity to meet someone special before the holiday. Don't be shy, mix and mingle with other bay area sngles, and you may find your perfect match!
