Why go: The final Harry Potter film will be released on Friday and several theaters have midnight showings lined up. One of the closest movie theaters to Gulfport is Baywalk Muvico in St. Petersburg.

11th Annual Summer One Act Festival
Where: Catherine Hickman Theater

Why go: This year's festival has 12 never-before-seen short plays chosen from more than 150 plays that were submitted. These are from playwrights all over the country.

Why go: A series of workshops where kids will explore every job and aspect of a real glass blowing hot shop. Campers will make solid and blown glass projects with IAC instructors Elise & Caity Pautler. Limited to 8 campers per session.

Third Saturday Gulfport Art Walk
Where: Beach Blvd. in downtown Gulfport
When: Saturday, July 16
Time: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Why go: Preview and purchase the work of over 50 artists and crafters, as well as authors, antique dealers and entertainers stretched over a half-mile up and down scenic Beach Boulevard.

Saturday Salsa: Free Dancing at the Pier
Where: St. Petersburg Pier, 800 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersbug

Why go: Come for a free "Intro to Salsa" group class from 4:30pm to 5pm, then enjoy the weather, the view, music, dancing, and socializing.
