Mark Your Calendars & Get Your Tickets: Gecko Ball 2011
Step into "The Lizard of Oz" and try a Geckotini or Ruby Slipper at the annual Gecko Ball on Saturday, Aug. 27th. You heard it right, this year's theme is a Gecko-twist of the classic film, Wizard of Oz.
The event will be held at and will feature a dinner buffet, live music by Kevin Wilder and his YellowBrick Roadies, silent and live auctions and even a costume contest.

Back by popular demand, this year’s photo booth offers commemorative photos of party-goers posed in front of Oz backdrops.

Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. Go for the Oz angle, something Gecko-ish, or combine the two! A costume contest will determine the best ensembles of the evening.
Get Ready for 30,000 People at Geckofest 2011
You have plenty of time to rest before the 11th Annual Geckofest kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. in downtown Gulfport.
This year's theme is "Lizard of Oz". You're encouraged to dress up and compete for best costumes, including Best Lizard of Oz, Best Decorated Umbrella and Best Hat.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a parade at 6 p.m. starting at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom.
There will be more than 200 vendors and performing artists including live music on the main stage from noon to 10 p.m. Live entertainment includes:
- Joel & Dakota
- Cannon Quinn
- Tropical Disturbance
- Ave. 43
- Gabe Whitney
- Gypsy Train
