“Fifteen to twenty years.”
What encouraged/inspired you to start volunteering?
“When my husband passed I had a lot of spare time and I didn’t want to sit around and do nothing, so to keep busy, I began volunteering.”
What do you like about volunteering?
“It keeps you involved and your mind stays sharp. It's like the continuation of a job except no pay check.”
How often do you volunteer?
“It varies; I volunteer whenever I am needed.”
What keeps you interested in volunteering?
“It gets me out of the house, and it feels good to help other people.”
What do you like about Gulfport?
“It has wonderful assets, and the people are nice. If I had to move from here I don’t know what I’d do. I also like how its convenient to everything.”
How can the public help your organization?
“For people to know about our program; if they have older relatives that live nearby and are worried about them, they can sign them up for our program and have us check in on them.”
