Gulfport Man Dies in St. Petersburg Crash
A Gulfport man was killed early this morning when, police say, he didn't navigate a road properly and crashed.

ST. PETERSBURG - Noah Thomas Hughes, of 6570 Gulfport Blvd. South in Gulfport, was killed this morning when he failed to navigate a St. Petersburg road with his motorcycle and crashed.
St. Petersburg police report that Hughes, 22, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Park St. South at 2:23 a.m. this morning. At the 500 block of the road, it bends southeast but police report that Hughes, for reasons unknown, did not turn and drove straight off the road.
Hughes then struck a wooden light pole and was ejected from the motorcycle and then slammed into a palm tree. Hughes was not wearing a helmet, police say. He was pronounced dead on scene.
