Man in Motorized Wheelchair Died After Crash
68-year-old Roger L. Barchoff died after a vehicle hit him while he was trying to cross Pasadena Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday May 2, 2011.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 68-year-old Roger L. Barchoff of St. Petersburg was struck by a vehicle while he was trying to cross South Pasadena Avenue just south of 14th Ave South in a motorized wheelchair.
It happened on Monday May 2, 2011 just before 10:30 a.m.
Investigators say Barchoff was not using a crosswalk and neither alcohol or speed appear to be factors in the crash.

The 2010 Dodge Avenger that hit Barchoff was driven by 27-year-old Peter John August Curcio of Cape Coral, Fla.
After the accident, Barchoff was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, May 2011, the Sheriff's Office was notified that Barchoff died at the hospital just before 3:40 p.m.
The investigation continues.
