From a community food table to organic plants and Buffy the chicken, the Growing Greener event in Gulfport educated everyone about sustainable living and growing their own food.

Hundreds funneled into the on Saturday to learn about sculpting their own green thumbs in an eco-friendly way.

Organizer Crea Rominelli envisioned the Growing Greener event and said she was "speechless" about its success. Dozens of booths and vendors selling organic vegetables, plants, herbal remedies and llama manure or "llama beans" set up shop inside and outside of the casino.

During the event, several speakers presented topics, information and resources in different seminar areas of the casino. Topics included: Sustainable Urban Agriculture, 12 months of change, Sheet Mulching, Safe Gardening Practices and more.
