Photo Gallery: Preview of 'The Constant Wife'

I had the pleasure of attending the play The Constant Wife during the "family and friends" night on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Don and Helene Spencer came out to see their son Chris Spencer as Bentley. "I like the subtle humor," Helene said.

Director Olga Kruse says the play was considered "sensational" in it's time. The play takes place in England in 1927, but the jokes and references to men, women and marriage resonate in the theater, no matter what decade it is.

Wouldn't you laugh if you heard:

"Men can't stand boredom as much as women."

"We're naturally faithful creatures." (talking about women)

"They're so helpless, just like dogs." (talking about men)

"If a man neglects his wife, it is her own fault."
