Photo Gallery: Senior Center Luau

Seniors from the area gathered for some hula. Proceeds benefited the Gulfport Senior Foundation.

Dozens of people put on their straw hats, sunglasses, coconuts and hula skirts for the Hawaiian Luau on Wednesday July 27, 2011.

Although Mother Nature poured outside, the rain didn't dampen the spirits of the attendees. In addition to door prizes and opportunity baskets, the party featured hula dances and lessons and live entertainment.

The Toonsters, "J" and Lolita Wygant, Karina of Karine School of Hawaiian and Belly Dance, Dave O'Brian and Cookie McPhee all performed during the packed event. In all, about 150 people came out.
