The 4th Annual Tangerine Blues Fest lured at least 8,000 blues lovers from around the area to the Tangerine Greenway in Gulfport on Sat. Sept. 24.
Live performers included Chicago blues legend Steve Arvey, "Queen of the Jukes" Shar Baby, The Legendary J.C.'s and Albert Castiglia.
Families, friends and people of all ages danced to live entertainment, tasted several local cuisines and helped raise money for the All Children's Hospital. The amount raised is not yet tallied.

Officials with So49 say All Children's Hospital was chosen because it serves a large number of youth in our community and surrounding communities in a variety of ways.
The annual event was sponsored by the 49th Street South Business Association, Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, City of Gulfport and City of St. Petersburg.

Locally, So49 has supported teams for the American Cancer Society and the Boca Ciega High School Basketball team. The So Classic Car Show in February (2012) will benefit the Fallen Police Officers Fund, the Gulfport Teen Council and the Gulfport Police Explorers.
