Rescue: Limbo Chihuahuas-Chihuahua/Chi Mix/Small Dog Rescue

Claire is a extra small chihuahua, weighing in at a mighty 4.5 pounds. Claire is adorable, affectionaite and absolutely awesome. At a young 8 years, she loves to play, go on trips, meet people, snuggle on your lap and give out her 'wispy' kisses.

Claire is all black with a little touch of brown and grey. She is housebroken and figured out the doggie door quickly. She does love to eat and get treats. She came in with her 'family' consisting of her daughter, her son and her mate.

Theo, her mate, was a Rescue of the Week and still available for adoption. Her daughter, Fiona, was adopted. Her son, Francis, will soon be featured as a rescue of the week. It is unsure if she was a breeding dog but they were all going to be euthanized before coming to rescue.

Claire was also not taken care of very well before rescue. She came to us at 3 pounds and all bones with little if no fur. She was scared and shaking all the time. Now Claire is outgoing and friendly with a little belly and a full coat of soft and silky fur.

Due to her size and past neglect, Claire does have some physical disabilities that have been easily turned into abilities. Claire has a luxtating patella - inherited in small dogs- also called a moving knee cap. She walks funny and otherwise is not bothered. Claire has a slightly enlarged heart probably due to neglect and heredity. She may require inexpensive medication in the future. Some people refer to Claire as a "teacup' Chihuahua. There is no such thing as a teacup dog of any breed. Claire is an extra small dog that has the medical issues of extra small dogs.

Claire would be a wonderful dog for a senior person, adults and even older children. Claire is good with other dogs but barks at cats. Claire would love to have a forever home where she really would be the queen.

Thank you for adopting your next dog!
