Meet Ray Charles, Ray Ray for short. Ray Ray is a Chihuahua/terrier mix with pumpklin spice colored soft fur and a contagiously happy attitude. Ray Ray is full of energy, despite the belief he is 8-10 years young. He runs and trots in large circles near the entrance door when his foster mom comes home. Ray Ray goes down in his play posture to greet his person then jumps in little spurts of happiness when rubbed.

Ray Ray came into the foster home and immediately began 'learning' his new environment. Ray Ray is blind. After a few days, he learned where the table legs are, the couch, his crate for eating, the water bowl way back in the kitchen and the outside door for potty.

He likes to play and found all the toys and even initiated play with the dogs he 'sensed' would play with him. Ray Ray is learning how to navigate past the 'bullies' and the 'old boys' and is learning cat play to. Ray Ray has taken in a lot for a new foster dog. In a short time, he has adapted well, for a new foster dog, never mind that Ray Ray is blind.

Ray Ray's eye lids are shut and we are not sure if he has eyes. (We will take him to the vet to try to find out before being adopted). The kill shelter he was at thought he should have been put to sleep. The shelter's rescue coordinator was asked many times if she was sure he should be saved. There was something about him she would not give up on. She was right!

Ray Ray has a remarkable attitude and appears to be incredibly smart. He is active and social and likes to cuddle. He had no name until he came into rescue and knew his name within hours.

He is housebroken and up to date on all of his shots, HW negative and on preventative and altered.

Ray Ray would be great with adults and even some children. Other pets would be ok especially if they are as social as Ray. Ray Ray has shown he is not disabled - but very able!

Ray Charles is with Limbo Chihuahuas - Chi/Chi mix and small dog rescue. If you are interested in Ray Ray or any other dog from Limbo Chihuahuas feel free to contact Megan at 727-423-0226 or bonoball@tampabay.rr.com. Check out all our dogs on Petfinder.com/shelters/fl244 or Adopt-a-pet.com.
