Visit Peeps at Gulfport Art Walk

The first Friday in April means two things: the Gulfport Art-Walk on south Beach Boulevard, and the Industrial Arts Center is filled with "Peepmaina!"

Tomorrow is first Friday, and that means time for the Gulfport Art-Walk on Beach Boulevard South. It is also the beginning of April—Easter Sunday is only a few days away.

Easter means something else—Peeps!

All this month, the Industrial Arts Center on 2902-A Beach Boulevard South will be highlighting "Peepmania," the iconic Easter treat in hand-blown glass form. These solid glass peeps will be available only at the Art-Walks during April.

The Industrial Arts Center is one of the many places in Gulfport that allows creative juices to flow. By using "industrial" methods, glass, metal and clay transform into amazing works of art. Adult classes in both beginning and advanced glassblowing, metal works and kids classes in clay molding are available.

The Gulfport Art-Walk highlights independent artists, authors and entertainers. Providing the fun atmosphere and live music will be local acts such as Uniquely Original’s Community Drum Circle, The New Horizons Band and Paul Anthony.

The St. Pete Astronomy Club will also be on hand with telescopes, to catch a glimpse of the stars.

It is also a special celebration! In addition to offering glassblowing and metalwork classes, the Industrial Arts Center also won Best Customer Service in contest. The award recognizes the commitment the center has to Gulfport artists and the entire community.

A great way to congratulate the IAC on its customer service is by visiting them tomorrow, April 6, during Gulfport Art-Walk, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For more information, call 727-289-9365 or visit www.IndustrialArtsCenter.org.
