Woman, 74, arrested after hit-and-run crash in Hialeah, report says (nbcmiami.com) — A serious hit-and-run on West 49th Street and West 10th Avenue in Hialeah left a motorcyclist injured and airlifted from Goodlet Park to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police say a 74-year-old driver left the scene but was later found in Miami Gardens, arrested, and admitted involvement, underscoring ongoing safety concerns on Hialeah's busy roads.
2. Hialeah seniors get a new location for meals and activities in center at La Carreta (miamiherald.com) — Hialeah seniors now have a new spot for free meals and activities at La Carreta on West 16th Avenue, restoring services lost when the Goodlet Park senior center closed. The Little Havana nonprofit is serving breakfast, lunch, exercise classes, and health workshops on weekdays, with capacity for up to 100 seniors daily and extra take-home meals for those who qualify.
3. Man, 65, accused of molesting 4-year-old girl in Hialeah Lowe's, police say (nbcmiami.com) — A 65-year-old man has been jailed after police say he molested a 4-year-old girl inside the Lowe's on West 37th Street in Hialeah. Officers used store surveillance video to identify the suspect, who allegedly hid behind a display before approaching the child, and a judge has ordered him held without bond while the case proceeds.
4. Hialeah buffet restaurant shut down over revolting findings near food (latination.com) — Golden Corral on West 49th Street in Hialeah was temporarily shut down after state inspectors found rodent droppings, dead and live roaches, and other serious sanitation problems near buffet food areas. After deep cleaning, discarding damaged canned goods, and correcting 11 violations, the restaurant passed a follow-up inspection and has been allowed to reopen to customers.
