• Swamp eels in the Everglades: Implode food chains from the bottom up (marconews.com) — Asian swamp eels have already been spotted in Homestead canals, and researchers warn these invasive predators could seriously disrupt local wetlands and Everglades restoration. Experts are asking Homestead residents to photograph any suspicious eel-like fish and report them through the IVEGOT1 hotline or app so agencies can track and control the spread before it worsens.
