• PTSA requests Village support for Key Biscayne K-8 school improvements (islandernews.com subscription) — Key Biscayne parents and PTSA leaders are pressing village officials to prioritize long-overdue facility upgrades at the Key Biscayne K-8 Center, from bathrooms and windows to air-conditioning and hallways. They argue the school's condition affects property values, family decisions about staying on the island, and the village's identity, and are urging closer coordination with Miami-Dade schools and a campus tour by council members.
• FYI Miami: September 17, 2026 (miamitodaynews.com) — Miami-Dade officials have advanced a key agreement needed to secure federal funding to replace the aging Bear Cut Bridge, the only roadway link between Key Biscayne and the rest of the county. If approved by the full commission, the county will launch a required environmental study, addressing long-standing resident concerns about storm damage risks to the 1944-era structure.
