25-Year-Old Man Threatens To Jump From SR 570 Overpass

POLK COUNTY, FL -- State troopers were forced to temporarily close Interstate 4 at State Road 570 Sunday morning. May 27, after a man threatened to jump off the S.R. 570 overpass.

Troopers were called to the overpass at 6:30 a.m. and found a 25-year-old man armed with a knife threatening to jump.

Troopers were able to talk the man down and transported him to a facility for a mental evaluation. The highway was reopened just after 7 a.m.
