4 Killed In Head-On Crash On Memorial Boulevard
Four people were killed in a head-on crash on Memorial Boulevard near Holly Road.

LAKELAND, FL -- Lakeland Police have identified the four people killed in a head-on crash on Memorial Boulevard near Holly Road Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The crash occurred around noon when a Chevrolet sedan traveling east on Memorial Boulevard suddenly crossed over into the westbound lanes and collided with a Chevrolet truck with an empty horse trailer and a Ford truck.
The Lakeland Police Department, Polk County Fire Rescue and the Lakeland Fire Department rendered aid. The driver and both rear passengers of the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger of the sedan was transported to Lakeland Regional Health where he later died from his injuries. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet truck were both transported to LRH with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

The roadway was shut down for approximately five hours. This case is still open and under investigation. The cause of the accident has not been determined at this time.

The driver of the Chevrolet sedan was identified as William McClelland, 50, of Winter Haven. The front seat passenger was Ernest Manley, 88 of Winter Haven. The backseat passengers were Lisa Vorholzer, 54, of Winter Haven and Linda Henson, 66, of Pickens, North Carolina.
Sanford Meeks, 50, of Polk City was the driver of the Chevrolet truck and Dannel Cantu, 62, of Plant City was the driver of the Ford truck.
