3. 8-year-old found barefoot and alone in the middle of a busy Lakeland road: FHP (wfla.com) — An 8-year-old boy was found barefoot and alone in the median of busy Kathleen Road in Lakeland, where a state trooper intervened before he could be hurt or abducted. Lakeland Police took custody and are investigating how he ended up there while his mother and sisters were at home. No injuries were reported, but potential charges are still being reviewed.

WATCH: DUI suspect drops toddler, baby into water as he evades police (louisianafirstnews.com) — Lakeland Police say a suspected impaired driver crashed, flipped his vehicle, then fled into a swamp carrying a baby and toddler, dropping both into the water before officers rescued them.
