The project also supports converting the nearby Florida National Bank building on Tennessee Avenue into Prima 135, a modern Italian steakhouse, reshaping a key block near Munn Park.

Lakeland's September 2026 Beautification Award Winners (lkldnow.com) โ Lakeland's Beautification Board has named Starbucks at 3179 Hwy 98 N and a home at 1425 Mockingbird Lane as September's commercial and residential landscape winners, highlighting creative plantings and pollinator-friendly yards. Residents can nominate standout properties anywhere in Lakeland by emailing parks@lakelandgov.net or calling the city's parks department to recognize neighbors who are improving the city's curb appeal.

Dover Woman Facing Theft Warrant Arrested In Lakeland After Tossing Crack Pipe, Polk Deputies Say (tampafp.com) โ Polk County deputies arrested a 59-year-old Dover woman on Texas Avenue in Lakeland on an outstanding theft warrant and say she tried to toss a crack pipe as they took her into custody. Investigators report the pipe contained cocaine, leading to additional felony drug and evidence-tampering charges that now accompany her original petit theft counts.

Photos: Flock in Florida, license plate readers in the state (news-journalonline.com) โ State transportation officials have ordered the removal of automated license plate readers from state highway rights-of-way, including a camera on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland's Dixieland district. A new photo series shows how these Flock cameras look and where they've been installed around Florida, offering Lakeland residents a visual sense of the technology that's monitored their local traffic.
