Police Sergeant Injured In Hit-And-Run While On Duty: Report

A media report says the police sergeant was responding to an initial hit-and-run when he was hit by a minivan at Van Fleet Drive East.

LAKELAND — A Bartow Police sergeant was injured in a hit-and-run around 7:15 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Van Fleet Drive East, News Channel 8 reported.

According to the outlet, the sergeant was responding to another hit-and-run involving a man and his girlfriend when he was hit by a minivan. The sergeant's injuries were non-threatening.

Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported several vehicles were involved in the initial crash.
