LAKELAND, FL — Two brothers are facing multiple charges after Polk County authorities said they assaulted numerous security guards and deputies after they became "belligerent" and violent at a Lakeland bar.

According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office news release, 28-year-old Christopher Davis and 30-year-old Jay Davis, both of Lakeland, were arrested Saturday at Brewlands Bar & Billiards, located at 5733 S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland.

According to authorities, deputies responded to the bar around 11:50 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. When deputies arrived, authorities said they found both men arguing and yelling at other customers in the parking lot.

Before law enforcement's arrival, witnesses told authorities that two security guards attempted to escort the men from the bar after they tried to fight other customers. Authorities said Christopher Davis punched the guards while Jay Davis grabbed them and tried pulling them away from his brother.

According to authorities, both men appeared heavily intoxicated. An arrest affidavit said Christopher Davis was "staggering and making incoherent statements, yelling profanities and racial slurs." Authorities said he also kicked a deputy and grabbed her wrist.

When other deputies arrived at the bar, authorities said Christopher Davis attempted to spit on them before kicking another deputy and knocking her to the ground.

Both men were taken into custody, authorities said. While en route to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Processing Center, authorities said Christopher Davis told the deputy to pull over so he could "rape and kill her."

"The people at the bar just wanted to have a fun evening, but then these two acted like fools and tried to start fights," Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement. "In the end, we gave them a nice family moment — we arrested them together and sent them to jail together."

Christopher Davis was charged with multiple counts, including battery, threatening a public official, resisting arrest with violence, simple assault and disorderly intoxication, authorities said. Jay Davis was charged with simple battery and disorderly intoxication.
