FL Man Stole Vodka, OJ For ‘Screwdriver’ On Thanksgiving: Sheriff

POLK COUNTY, FL — A man broke into an apartment on Thanksgiving day to steal the ingredients to make a “Screwdriver” alcoholic drink, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch surveillance footage of the suspect reportedly breaking into the apartment below.)

Toby Foster Jr. entered someone else’s apartment and stole orange juice and Svedka vodka around 5:30 a.m.

He turned himself in after the sheriff’s office posted surveillance video footage of a suspect entering and leaving the apartment with the ingredients on Friday.

Foster was charged with burglary. The total value of the theft was about $35, the agency said.

The victim said Foster entered the apartment using a secondary door that isn’t often used and they had no idea it was unlocked.

Before this, he tried to open the door of the apartment across the hallway, but he left after finding that it was locked, detectives said.

“Most people use a screwdriver to break into an apartment. He breaks into the apartment to get a screwdriver,” Sheriff Grady Judd said. “Well, he’s in the county jail. There is no vodka. We do serve orange juice occasionally.”
