FL Newborn Abandoned In Woods Gets Adopted 10 Months Later: Reports
A media outlet reported the newborn was believed to be an hour old when she was abandoned on Jan. 28 in Polk County.
MULBERRY— Several months after a newborn was found abandoned in a Polk County wood line, authorities told media outlets she is getting a second chance at having a family after being adopted.
WFTS Tampa Bay reported the newborn was believed to be an hour old when she was abandoned on Jan. 28 in Polk.
Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported Friday the baby girl was found around 1:45 a.m. in the woods near the Regal Loop Mobile Home Park in Mulberry.

She was swaddled in a blanket with an umbilical cord and placenta attached to her at the time she was found, WFTS reported.
The Polk County Fire Rescue Department used the baby's temperature to determine her estimated age, Fox 13 reported.

"It was by the grace of God that we found the abandoned baby girl when we did, before exposure to the cold or any animals caused her any harm," Sheriff Grady Judd said to media at the time, per Fox 13. "She was left in an extremely vulnerable condition, but she’s a strong little girl, and it looks like she’s doing great."
Authorities did not locate the birth mother, but 10 months later, the baby girl was adopted, the outlet reported.
