Haines City Teacher Arrested For Sending Nude Photos To Teen

The Haines City High School teacher is accused of having sexually explicit conversations with a 15-year-old teen in Texas.

WINTER HAVEN, FL -- A 27 year-old Haines City High School teacher is facing felony charges after being arrested for having sexually explicit conversations with and sending nude photos of herself to a 15 year-old Texas boy.

Robin Dunlap of 350 24th St. N.W., Winter Haven, originally turned herself in to the Winter Haven Police Department on Sept. 18 after the victim’s mother discovered she was communicating with her son.

Dunlap said she sent the nude photos to the teen before she learned his real age. She told police that the two began having conversations over Xbox One and the teen told her he was 19 years old. The conversations continued through Kik via text and video chat on their cell phones.

When the mother of the victim saw the communication on her son’s phone, she contacted Dunlap to tell her that her son was only 15 years old. Following her contact with the mother, Dunlap turned herself into police. However, the communication with the teen didn’t end.

On Oct. 29, the victim’s father called Winter Haven Police detectives to say Dunlap was still having contact with his son through Google Hangouts. Working with investigators in Texas, Winter Haven detectives obtained proof from the victim’s cell phone that the two were still in contact.

Winter Haven detectives confronted Dunlap at her home on Sunday where she admitted to still being in contact with the teen. She gave detectives permission to inspect her phones and detectives found conversations from Nov. 26 to Dec. 11 with “extremely vulgar” sexually explicit language, according to a press release.

Dunlap was taken was into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of transmitting material harmful to a minor and using a two-way communication device to commit a felony.

"There is absolutely no excuse for an adult - especially a high school teacher - to continue sexually explicit conversations with a 15 year-old long after his real age is revealed," Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Bird said. "The vulnerable age of this victim and the fact that this woman took advantage of him for her own personal needs is inexcusable."
