Lakeland Police Investigate Man Found Shot In Apartment

LAKELAND, FL -- Lakeland Police detectives are seeking information on the shooting of a man at the Lakeland Manor Apartments.

On Monday, Jan. 22, shortly after 4 p.m., Lakeland Police officers were called to Lakeland Manor Apartments, 929 Gilmore Ave., to investigate a suspicious death. Officers were met by the facility’s maintenance worker who told them he had discovered a dead man inside Apartment No. 11 while performing an inspection.

Officers confirmed that the man had been shot and killed. He has been identified as Roderick Childs, 55.
