Lakeland Woman Dies After Being Shot By Husband
A Lakeland woman has died after being shot by her husband who then killed himself.
LAKELAND, FL -- A Lakeland woman has died after her husband shot her and then killed himself on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the domestic violence incident occurred at 5:44 p.m. in the 2300 block of 10th Street West in Lakeland. A man shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
The unnamed victim survived and was taken to Lakeland Regional Health for surgery. She died Thursday morning.
