Lakeland's Red, White & Kaboom 2020 Is Canceled
Lakeland's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.
LAKELAND, FL — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Lakeland.
Although the annual Red, White & Kaboom 4th of July Independence Celebration and Fireworks in Lakeland has been canceled, there are nearby Polk County fireworks shows.
- On Saturday, July 4, starting at 9:15 p.m., the city of Davenport is hosting a 4th of July Fireworks Display. It will be held along Davenport Boulevard with radio synchronized music. This year’s Fourth of July event will be a scaled-back event due to the coronavirus social distancing guidelines. All entertainment has been canceled. Visitors can watch the fireworks from their vehicles. Follow the city's Facebook page for updates.
- Red, White & BOOM! at Legoland Florida is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visit Legoland's website to learn how they are using safety precautions during the coronavirus pandemic to help keep visitors safe.
