Man Called 9-1-1 For Ride Home from McDonald's: Police
A Winter Haven man was charged with misuse of 9-1-1 after he called the emergency number many times to request a ride home, police said.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — When a man who called 9-1-1 was told by dispatchers that he couldn't get a ride home from McDonald's by police officers, he called 9-1-1 again to report a dead person at the location, the Winter Haven Police Department said.
Authorities said officers took Jermaine Williams' phone call seriously when he told them there was a body at McDonald's on Sixth Street Northwest, and many officers showed up to the location shortly after 1:15 a.m. Friday.
After police arrived, they didn't find a body, but they did see Williams, 46, sitting on the curb. Detectives said he continued to ask for a ride.
