Missing Winter Haven Woman Found Safe: Police

Police say the 59-year-old woman has been located after she went missing on Monday after she told friends she was going for a bike ride.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Abigail Ortiz has been located safe and has been reunited with loved ones, a Winter Haven Police Department news release said.

A 59-year-0ld woman who is insulin dependent is missing from her Winter Haven home, a Winter Haven Police Department news release said.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding Abigail Ortiz, who was last seen on Monday at 2:30 p.m., at 38 Azalea Dr., near Lucerne Park Road, in Winter Haven.

Authorities said Ortiz told an acquaintance she was going for a bike ride.

It is not clear in which direction she rode her blue bicycle, said police.

She was last seen officers say wearing blue jeans, a brown shirt, teal/blue prescription glasses and had a large brown purse with her.

Investigators said Ortiz does not have her insulin with her, and the last time she took the medicine was in the morning hours of Monday.

Anyone with information on her location is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
