Mother Found Dead By Police With Children Inside Home
The Lakeland Police Department found a woman dead from gunshot wounds when they arrived at her Lakeland home.

LAKELAND, FL — A 25-year-old woman died after being shot on Sunday night in Lakeland, a Lakeland Police Department news release said.
Officers went to a residence located in the area of 1000 Monroe Street at 9:24 p.m., after someone heard shots in the area and found the victim inside the home with gunshot wounds.
Polk County Fire Rescue pronounced her dead at 9:29 p.m., authorities said. The victim's three children, who were all under the age of eight, were at the residence when police arrived, but none of them were injured.

Authorities said the children are with family members, and it is unknown where in the house the children were at the time of the shooting.
Due to Marsy's Law, the Lakeland Police Department will not release the name of the victim.
