New Security Measures In Place Monday At Lakeland City Hall

Starting Monday, April 30, it's going to be a bit more difficult to get into Lakeland City Hall.

LAKELAND, FL -- Starting Monday, April 30, it's going to be a bit more difficult to get into Lakeland City Hall.

The city has put new security measures in place that requires employees to use a badge to gain access to City Hall.

Visitors now need to check in at the security guard station located in the reception area on the first floor of City Hall to receive a visitor pass. Once the visitor checks in, the security guard will call the person the visitor is meeting to grant access to the visitor.

Customers visiting the Permitting Center (building permits, tax office) located on the 1st floor of City Hall must check in with the security guard as well.

City Hall has new way-finding signage that is color coded to better assist visitors along with newly constructed access doors at each floor. Starting April 30th, these access doors will be locked and a badge must be used to gain access.
