Overturned Tractor Trailer Blocked Exit Ramp 33 In Lakeland

Drivers couldn't access exit ramp 33 off Interstate 4 for a good portion of the morning as an overturned semi blocked lanes.

LAKELAND, FL — An 18-wheeler carrying sweet potatoes overturned in the Lakeland area on Interstate-4 westbound at exit 33 early Thursday morning after it attempted to avoid a crash as the driver came upon traffic that was stopped, said a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The exit ramp was blocked to traffic after the tractor trailer turned over on its side. Florida Highway Patrol said the driver experienced minor injuries.

The exit ramp has since reopened.
