Polk County Bicyclist Fatally Struck By SUV: Police
The 51-year-old Bartow woman was riding on SR-60 early Wednesday when she was struck by the SUV, according to police.

POLK COUNTY, FL — A Bartow woman died Wednesday when the bicycle she was riding was hit by an SUV on a Polk County road, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 65-year-old Bartow man driving a Chevy Trax was traveling north on North Broadway Avenue around 6:20 a.m. when the crash occurred.
Police said the driver stopped at a red light at the intersection of SR-60 and, as he attempted to make a right turn onto the highway, struck the 51-year-old woman as she rode her bike through the intersection.

According to police, the woman was riding westbound on SR-60 when the crash happened.
Authorities said the woman suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The Chevy driver was not injured, according to police.
