Plant City Man Killed On I-4 In Hit-And-Run Accident
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal hit and run traffic crash that occurred sometime over the last 24 hours.

POLK COUNTY, FL -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal hit and run traffic crash that occurred sometime over the last 24 hours along westbound Interstate 4, west of U.S. 98.
A passing truck driver saw the body of a man on the grass shoulder on the north side of the highway at 9:11 a.m. Thursday, May 3.
Troopers later identified the man as McKenzie J. Messick, 22, of Plant City.

The unknown vehicle that struck the pedestrian may have front-end damage. Troopers have located vehicle parts from a front headlight or turn signal. There were also white paint chips. The parts lead investigators to believe the vehicle was a General Motors model.
