Polk Museum of Art Offers Wet-Carved Concrete Sculpture Workshop

Award-winning sculptor Elder Jones will teach this 3-day class in March. His work has been featured on HGTV and Southern Living Magazine.

The Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College is pleased to announce that award-winning artist and sculptor Elder Jones will teach a three-day workshop this spring.

The Wet-Carved Concrete Sculpture Workshop is March 23-25. Cost is $300 for members; $340 for nonmembers. The registration deadline is March 4.

Participants will learn the technique of wet carving to create their own concrete sculpture or planter about 14 inches tall. The process is done while the concrete is still soft so no power tools are required. All materials and tools are provided. However, students will have the option of purchasing a tool set designed by the artist.
