Kids' Books, Stuffed Animals, Snacks Collected By Polk Sheriff
The peanut butter will go to food pantries and the books and stuffed animals will be given out to children going through a traumatic event.

POLK COUNTY, FL — The Polk County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the University of Florida's Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences to collect new jars of peanut butter that will go to local food pantries to help feed local families.
Peanut butter is not only nutritious, it's shelf-stable and made from a product grown in the Sunshine State. Residents can drop jars of peanut butter off at any of the sheriff's district offices or the main operations center in Winter Haven.
- Main operations center, 1891 Jim Keene Blvd., Winter Haven.
- Southwest district office, 4120 U.S. 98 S, Lakeland.
- Northwest district office, 1045 Wedgewood Estates Blvd., Lakeland.
- Northeast district office, 1100 Dunson Road, Davenport.
- Central district office, 3635 Avenue G NW, Winter Haven.
- Southeast district office, 4011 Sgt. Mary Campbell Way, Lake Wales.
The sheriff is also teaming up with Re/Max in Lakeland to collect stuffed animals and children's books to give to kids who need something to comfort them or occupy their time after a traumatic event.

Re/Max will be accepting donations at its Lakeland office, 4110 S Florida Ave., Suite 110 (between Mission BBQ and Dairy Queen) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 31.
